Maxon Cinebench 10 x64
Website: Cinebench
Maxon Cinebench is based on Maxon's popular animation software, Cinema 4D, which is used extensively by studios and production houses worldwide for 3D content creation. We've used the built-in CPU benchmark, which uses a 3D scene file to render a photo-realistic image of a concept bike. The scene makes use of various CPU-intensive features such as reflection, ambient occlusion, area lights and procedural shaders.

With a slightly better performance than the Q9550s (even the DDR3 one) here, the Phenom II X4 940 comes out slightly ahead by a few percent, and the X4 920 nuzzles between both DDR3 and DDR2 Q9450 results, affording a more competitive price:performance ratio.
And as we've come to expect, the four to five percent performance increase between Phenom X4 generations is there too.

In single threaded performance the Intel Core 2 Quad 9550s with DDR2 and DDR3 get ahead of the Phenom II X4 940 this time, but the X4 920 is still holding firm between the Q9450s, even if it is closer to the DDR2 than DDR3 result this time. The clock to clock difference between Phenom generations has also dropped to just three percent now too.
